As graphic designers, we are often posed with issues that may or may not reflect our ethics. How much are we willing to photoshop a teenage model’s body? Are we willing to put together imagery for an adult site? While these maybe obvious questions for some of us, the ideal of creating a meaningful image is across the board in all visual arts. Font Nooz VII

November is a month of classics — classic as in “ancient Rome”; classic seventies; the classic beauty of fresh flowers. And then there’s the unclassifiable: a script so eclectic it is in a class of its own, a sans-serif so soft it seems to be genre-hopping. One more Photoshop Blunder

Demi Moore’s photoshopped cover Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott/W Everyone knows by now that magazines extensively airbrush the stars on their covers, and usually the celebs appreciate a little touchup and wouldn’t want it any other way. But imagine Demi Moore, 47, getting her first look at the latest (December) cover of W and finding that a huge chunk of her hip has been digitally removed? That’s what the folks at Boing Boing called attention to yesterday. The mistake hardly needs to be pointed out. If you look at Moore’s left hip (our right), it seems that what used to be flesh is now a great deal of white space. But, don’t worry, Mrs. Kutcher’s thigh still seems normal, though now it appears to bulge out below her sarong.

Beginning of course with Coke’s conception, initial bottling, how that famous bottle shape came about, right on up to the most recent marketing techniques and branding.

While compiling these images, I noticed most of the corporate brands following a particular trend while redesigning their logos…..minimalism. Yes, nowadays instead of going for complete new look, brands are adding minor changes to their icons and word mark. Do you agree that minimalism is the new trend for logo redesigning?
