Can a font help a city make a comeback?

The question arose, can something as simple as a typeface, a font, help an entire city?
Truth is, only time will tell, but like anything else, a city can only be helped by a successful brand.
Keep in mind, a brand is not a logo, it’s a perception.

Color the year

It’s been a while…one month exactly, since I’ve posted. Well, Ive been doing a little rebuilding of this blog after a horrendous meltdown slightly less destructive than Chernobyl. as well as a little more research and pondering about this subject. As we approach 2012, and we prepare to kiss our backsides goodbye, because as you know, the Earth is going to utterly self-destruct,  with the new year I like to pick a color of the year.

Designer and illustrator David Iglesias, of Tender Creative in Manhattan, redesigned Burger King’s packaging as part of their global packaging renovation.He also redesigned their existing icon system. The fast food giant wanted to expand its universal appeal by focusing more on bold illustrations and reducing the amount of text on their products. Iglesias’ designs helped to add more emphasis to Burger King’s popular menu items. Read more…
