I’ll admit, Ive been slacking off. I try to get you a new something to read every week and haven’t done so.

My buddy Luke and I were discussing some techniques that make photos look real…bu unreal. And this is what we came up with. I love the effect. It can be coupled with a low saturation to give a great dooms day feel. If you find anything else, leave a comment below and let us know about it.

See, working for an agency, he actually has the time to dink around and create stuff like this.

Graphic Designer Salary Guide for 2009

Discussing median incomes of this field, I had read that the median income of a starting graphic designer has barely changed sine the early 1990s. Mostly attributed to the computer, anybody can do design work whether or not they understand the principles. This fills the world with just plain bad design.
According to this list, it really hasn’t changed with the rising cost of living. Read more…

Here, we will put several principles of Illustrator together to get this realistic looking book. There are a few more steps to making it look photo realistic, but lets keep it simple. I assume most reading this have some experience with Adobe Illustrator. This is done in CS3 and can be done in as far back as CS with little variation (if any) to the steps.
